As friends and family learned of my pursuit, many cringed at the thought of being in the midst of the dying, the sick, the desperate, the demented. I felt called to be there. I knew I could offer myself and my music.
I recalled an earlier prayer. If this is what I'm meant to do, then make it happen.
It was happening.
The late Don Campbell's book "THE MOZART EFFECT" (Avon Books, 1997) was a required text for my classes. It popularized the notion that music enhanced much of life: intelligence, creativity, healing.
